In light of the need for social isolation of the public to slow the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the UK Government requires all gym's, health clubs and leisure centres to close. And so you might be considering mothballing your pool. Please read on to find out why this is not recommended.
Do not be tempted to empty the pool and spa and walk away. There is a genuine risk of damage to the structure and tiling, and for contamination of the filter, balance tank and circulation pipework. We recommend that you keep the pool circulating, dosed and filtered, lower the temperature and slow the circulation rate (if you have variable speed drives), but otherwise keep the pool system operational.
Please call or email for further advice.
We also suggest that a pool closure is a good opportunity for planned maintenance works and cleaning activities, such as balance tank cleaning, overflow channel superchlorination, pool filter inspections and cleaning under moveable floors. Topline can help with any of these routine maintenance tasks, please just give us a call or send an email.
If you need any help then let us come in and carry out routine servicing for you. We’ll compete the water testing, backwashing and topping up day tanks. Daily or weekly visits, whatever your needs.
